College boys and lies

This past year I experienced love for the very first time.

It was everything I imagined it to be: beautiful, sweet, romantic and breathtaking.

That all came to a crashing halt when my prince charming decided to take it all away by simply saying “I'm sorry” over the phone. After all we had experienced together how could he give up so easily?

The answer is simple, he is a boy and we all know that a lot ofboys are only interested in one thing. 

Words cannot describe how much pain and sorrow I suffered from this, but in the words of Rihanna, “No pain is forever.”

I have moved on and I am now withsomeone who is as witty and outgoing as myself.        

My biggest fear is that he will do exactly like the one before him.

Men do not always understand that women take what they say to heart.

Therefore, they should only make comments if they truly mean them.

For example, if a man were to tell a woman that he loves her, she is going to trust that he means it.

My boyfriend made the fatal mistake of telling me how much he loved and cared for me. I came to find out he did not really, he just thought he did.

Although he had to think twice about loving me, it did not take him but a day to reveal all of our personal business to his fraternity brothers, ending our year-long relationship.

Thanks to his mature attitude, it did not take long for his best friend to come at me expecting more than just a friendly hello.

Whatever happened to the days when men opened doors for women?

Or when they gave up a seat for a female when all others were taken? Granted, there are
several extremely polite young men in this world who respect women, but unfortunately that number of men seems to be decreasing.

I would love to see more guys go out of their way not to impress a woman, but to make her feel good about who she  is.
