Well, the snow sucked. Saturday afternoon, as I used my frozen arms to scrape inch upon inch of snow off of my car’s hood, windshield and rear window I began cursing loudly at all those who post ridiculous wishes for snow to their Facebook pages. (insert name here)…can’t wait for the snow! “Hogwash,” I exclaimed. I actually said “hogwash,” but when your experiencing minor frostbite you tend to say things you wouldn’t normally say.

Don’t get me wrong; I love winter. I like the cold. I love hockey. I like going to Michigan, and Christmas is my favorite time of the year. But I hate snow. It makes things ridiculously difficult.

It makes my hands cold. It downright makes me angry.

Now, on to a completely different, but still winter related subject.

USI’s men’s basketball team has been on a roll lately. While tragedy has struck close to home, the squad continues to press on in their efforts to impress. This weekend is the homecoming game. I’ve always thought that other than playoff’s, homecoming is one of the most important games of the season for a team. While most games feature the regularly faithful community supporters and the students who would rather die than miss a game, the homecoming game usually draws the biggest crowd. This shows the team just how many of us are behind them, even if we can’t make the games.

This week, vote for King and Queen and support the process. Then head to the game on Saturday, and enjoy an afternoon among your fellow students, professors and staff outside of the classroom or the office.
