Spring break could not have come fast enough.
As you are snagging this paper from the shelf, it is either Thursday or Friday just before classes close for the week, giving students across campus plenty of time to forget what they’ve learned in the past half-semester.
Spring training is underway, and by the time we return to campus it might just be safe enough to pair shorts with hooded sweatshirts.
I can’t really give you advice on what to do in Evansville for this coming week, because honestly, you’re probably not going to be here.
What’s important is that you won’t be in class. I know that the stretch from Christmas break to Spring break is quite honestly the most bleak time of the school year, with the weather, the absence of breaks and the city-wide darkness that buries the sky every day at 4:07 p.m.
But spring is coming, as is summer.
I’m sure you’ve seen this coming from the first line of my article, but my “stuff” for you to do this week is to enjoy your break.
Whether you are heading home, out of town or staying in the “Ville,” make sure to forget about school for a solid four to five days.
Relax, spend quality time (you know, have a conversation while your face isn’t buried in a text book for once) with those in your family, or with your close friends.
For many of us, a return to campus in mid-march marks a final stretch to freedom and reality.
